Members
Stretton Focus Limited is a company ‘Limited by Guarantee’; our legal structure is therefore slightly different to a typical ‘Limited Liability’ company. Limited by guarantee companies arrears most often formed by non-profit organisations where the individuals running the company wish to have the benefit of limited financial liability. Stretton Focus does not have any shares or shareholders but is owned by guarantors who agree to pay a set amount towards company debts if they arise. We call our guarantors ‘Members’ of the company and we ask that Members to join and agree to pay £1.00 as their ‘Guarantee’ to the company (should the comp[any go into debt). Our members are typically all present or past volunteers who work in all areas of the Focus operation. This approach means that we operate as a genuine community enterprise.
